It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story? How did you get to where you are today?
Thank you! My journey has been anything but ordinary. I spent 21 years, 11 months, and 7 days serving as a military officer in the U.S. Army, leading teams, making high-stakes decisions, and developing the discipline that has shaped my entire career. But life had other plans—ones I never saw coming.
I was diagnosed with leukemia, and the chemotherapy treatments didn’t just fight the cancer—they stole my eyesight, leaving me legally blind for almost four years. Imagine going from seeing the world in full color to complete darkness. It was one of the hardest battles of my life.
But I refused to let that be the end of my story. I used coloring books—yes, Big Bird and Barney—to retrain my eyes. And as my vision returned, I saw something even bigger: a problem that needed solving.
Where were the books that looked like me? That spoke to my experiences? That represented the people I knew? That’s when I took my 30+ years in design and digital arts and turned my pain into purpose, launching Blu Impressions Publishing—a six-figure business that helps coaches, speakers, and entrepreneurs transform their expertise into books that deliver results, build influence, and create new income streams.
Today, I don’t just publish books—I help people build authority, visibility, and a legacy that lives beyond them.
I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
Success is never easy. It’s messy, uncomfortable, and full of moments where you want to quit. My biggest challenge? Limiting beliefs. Not just the ones from others, but the ones I told myself.
When I lost my sight, I thought I lost my identity, my creativity, my independence. But I had to shift my mindset from “Why is this happening to me?” to “What is this preparing me for?”
Then came fear of starting over. When I launched Blu Impressions Publishing, I had moments of doubt—Would people trust me? Could I really build something from the ground up? But here’s what I learned:
Clarity comes in movement, not in stillness. You don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to start.
Every challenge I’ve faced—from rebuilding my sight to building my business—taught me one thing: You are stronger than your circumstances.
Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I don’t just publish books—I create profitable assets for my clients.
At Blu Impressions Publishing, we specialize in helping coaches, consultants, and speakers take their expertise, experiences, and insights and transform them into books that:
✔ Build influence and visibility ✔ Position them as an authority ✔ Attract clients and create new income streams
We offer everything from self-help books and workbooks to custom coloring books and journals—because your book should be more than just words on a page. It should be a tool for impact and revenue.
Why work with me? Because I know what it means to turn pain into purpose. I don’t just create books—I strategize, brand, and market them to ensure they work for you.
If you want a book that delivers results, I’m the person to help you make it happen.
What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Stop waiting for the perfect time. The perfect time doesn’t exist.
Too many people sit on their dreams, their books, their business ideas because they think they need one more certification, one more sign, one more “right” moment. But clarity comes in movement, not in stillness.
At Blu Impressions Publishing, we don’t just create books—we create books that deliver results.
✔ Our books give you visibility and influence ✔ Our books position you as an authority in your industry ✔ Our books help you attract high-value clients and create new revenue streams
So here’s my advice: Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. And surround yourself with people who see the greatness in you—even when you don’t see it yet.
Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success isn’t about money—it’s about impact.
It’s knowing that the work I do today will live beyond me. It’s watching my clients hold their books for the first time, step onto stages, launch businesses, and create their own legacy.
Success is not just what I accomplish—it’s how many others I can help accomplish something too.
What’s next for you?
Oh, we are just getting started!
🔥 I just launched the 3-Day Book Writing Camp, where entrepreneurs, coaches, and consultants can go from idea to 80% of their book written in just three days.
🔥 I just got back from Ghana, where I was honored to be part of the Voices of Change Leadership Conference—an experience that was nothing short of life-changing.
🔥 We’re expanding Blu Impressions Publishing, bringing even more opportunities for authors to get their work into the world without the stress, confusion, or overwhelm.
🔥 And LitCon Inc.—where I serve as Director—is continuing to connect communities through books, hosting literary events, symposiums, and author expos.
More books, more impact, more legacy-building. That’s what’s next.
Finally, how can people connect with you if they want to learn more?
