In the tattoo business, Dan Price dominates the industry. Dan gained notoriety as a high-end, mobile black and gray tattoo artist. Not your ordinary tattoo artist, Dan. Throughout every engagement, he places a high priority on ensuring his clients’ visions are realized.
Celebrities and athletes, including Future, Justin Bieber, Xzibit, Ronny J, John Geiger, Don Benjamin, James Connor, and others, are among Dan’s customers. Dan maintains humility and doesn’t like to be anything other than a regular person like everyone else, despite having a long list of distinguished clients from most tattoo artists. He constantly strives to improve and is hard on himself because he has such high standards. “I want to work with the best clients and artists in the world. People who appreciate luxury and the hard work it takes to get to a point where the dollar amount is not the point. It’s the passion and the energy around the situation. It needs to supersede the money, make someone tick, and connect to what they’re getting.”
Dan’s most significant challenge was learning to deal with rejection. Early in his career, he was rejected by many tattoo shops he wanted to work for or apprenticeship with, but they all stated he just needed to be better to bring him on. Moments like those left Dan questioning himself and even his worth at times because he’d often find himself the smallest fish in a room full of sharks.
Dan wants the youth and any aspiring artist to know to keep striving towards what you’re great at. “If you’re young, keep at it. If you’re keeping at it, master it. If you can master it, own it.
