There is no shortage of ways to become inspired.
People can spend a weekend at a retreat, listen to hours of podcasts, fill notebooks during workshops and leave an event certain that something has shifted. Sometimes it has. But eventually the calendar fills again, familiar reactions return and the clarity that felt obvious in the room becomes harder to access.
Anette Michelle is interested in that moment.
Through Inner Applause, her personal growth and experiential wellness brand, Anette is building experiences around a question she encountered repeatedly during more than a decade of her own personal growth work: What helps an insight become something a person can actually live?
Her answer begins with integration.
What Happens After the Breakthrough
Anette calls the gap between realization and sustained change “The Space Between the High & the Habit.”
Rather than immediately searching for another breakthrough when inspiration fades, Inner Applause creates opportunities for women to slow down and spend more time with what they have already discovered.
One expression of that philosophy is Mirror Practice, a guided reflective practice Anette created to help people notice what is happening internally, regulate, reconnect with themselves and make more intentional choices about how they respond.
Storytelling plays a significant role as well.
For Anette, stories have value because they can create recognition. When one woman shares something real, another may recognize an emotion, struggle or possibility from her own life. The purpose is not to tell someone what her experience should mean. It is to create enough space for her to explore that meaning herself.
Through storytelling, movement, reflection and shared experiences, Inner Applause is designed to let women hear something that moves them, pause long enough to feel it and begin considering what comes next.
A Story Anette Knows Firsthand
Anette’s belief in the power of lived experience is personal.
In 2015, she was 23 weeks pregnant and 2,500 miles from home when she delivered her son, Liam. He weighed just 1 pound, 5.9 ounces.
Liam would spend 130 days in the NICU before going home.
A decade later, he is a happy, healthy 10 year old who keeps his 16 year old sister, Mila, on her toes. The experience remains an important part of Anette’s story and her commitment to giving back to families facing their own uncertain days in neonatal intensive care.
Her connection to that community has included receiving Ohana of the Year from Caring for Hawaii Neonates.
Bringing the Work Into the Room
On October 11, 2026, Anette will host the first Inner Applause Experience in San Diego. The one day personal growth and wellness event will bring together speakers, storytelling, movement, wellness experiences, Mirror Practice, reflection and meaningful connection.
Miracle Babies, a San Diego nonprofit supporting NICU families, will serve as the charitable partner. The relationship carries particular weight for Anette because she knows firsthand how much support can matter during a long NICU journey.
The event is intended as the beginning of a broader series of speaking experiences, studio workshops, small groups and live gatherings.
Inner Applause is ultimately built around a distinction Anette learned through both personal growth and lived experience. A powerful moment can open something in us. Making room for what follows is a different kind of work.
